Matt Hogan, MPS, CPC
My journey began on the dojo floor at age 13, where I learned the discipline, resilience, and growth that martial arts instills. This foundation has shaped my approach to everything, from technology leadership to coaching. I’ve dedicated my career to exploring the intersection of people and technology, leading me to work on advancing analytics, data science, and cognitive systems that transform lives.
As Chief Technology Officer at LifeRaft Labs, I led architecture, platform, and cybersecurity, building industry-leading open-source threat intelligence. Prior to joining LifeRaft Labs, I led cybersecurity engineering at Manulife / John Hancock for the global technology office as Assistant Vice President. Before that, as Senior Director of Engineering for Analytics and Machine Learning at McGraw-Hill Education, I provided strategic and technical leadership to teams focused on data-driven learning. My career has also included overseeing IoT innovations at MathWorks and leading ground system development for the Space Development and Test Directorate at Kirtland Air Force Base. In every role, my focus has been on driving meaningful, ethical change through technology, empowering teams, and advancing systems that improve quality of life. Now, as an executive coach and a

member of the International Coaching Federation, I bring these experiences to my clients in the technology sector, guiding them to achieve both personal and professional goals.
My whole-person approach emphasizes perspective-taking, adaptive responses, and purpose-driven leadership. I work with clients to enhance decision-making, build high-engagement teams, and navigate complex environments with resilience and clarity.
Outside of coaching, I founded Crane Karate Academy, a place where traditional Okinawan karate builds strength and community. Whether in the dojo, boardroom, or coaching space, my goal is to inspire resilience, meaningful connections, and the pursuit of a purpose-led life.
My coaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that true leadership stems from understanding and mastering one’s inner landscape. Inspired by transformational leadership principles, my approach empowers clients to recognize and harness their unique strengths, values, and perspectives to create meaningful change within themselves and their organizations.
I believe in coaching the whole person, recognizing that personal and professional growth are deeply interconnected. My approach involves uncovering the motivations and aspirations that drive each individual, creating space for authentic exploration of purpose, vision, and values. Together, my clients and I explore strategies for balancing personal well-being with professional demands, achieving a sustainable harmony between the two. This whole-person approach not only optimizes performance but also cultivates fulfillment and well-being, enabling clients to lead with clarity, authenticity, and purpose.
