My story

From the dojo floor to the C-suite

My journey began on the dojo floor at age 13, where I learned the discipline, resilience, and growth that martial arts instills. That foundation has shaped everything since — including a career exploring the intersection of people and technology.

My roles have included:

  • Chief Technology Officer at LifeRaft Labs — architecture, platform, cybersecurity, open-source threat intelligence, and driving AI transformation across Sales, Marketing, Revenue, Operations, Customer Success, and Engineering
  • Creator of ioModel — a point-and-click machine-learning platform built and sold to universities for higher-ed and medical research (sunset in the LLM era)
  • Assistant Vice President of Cybersecurity Engineering at Manulife / John Hancock
  • Senior Director of Engineering for Analytics and Machine Learning at McGraw-Hill Education
  • IoT innovations oversight at MathWorks
  • Ground system development leadership at the Space Development and Test Directorate, Kirtland Air Force Base

In every role, the through-line has been the same: driving meaningful, ethical change through technology, empowering teams, and advancing systems that improve quality of life.

I'm also a named inventor on US Patent 2025/0384341 A1 — Methods and Systems for Training Artificial Intelligence Models — work that, alongside the cross-functional rollout at LifeRaft, anchors my AI Transformation advising practice.

Today I work as an executive coach and International Coaching Federation member, serving clients across the technology sector. My approach emphasizes perspective-taking, adaptive responses, and purpose-driven leadership — enhancing decision-making, building high-engagement teams, and navigating complex environments.

I believe true leadership stems from understanding and mastering one’s inner landscape. Inspired by transformational leadership principles, my whole-person approach empowers clients to recognize and harness their unique strengths, values, and perspectives — creating space for authentic exploration of purpose, vision, and what matters most.

I coach the whole person, recognizing that personal and professional growth are deeply interconnected. The work goes beyond performance: it cultivates fulfillment and well-being, so leaders can show up with clarity, authenticity, and purpose in both their work and their lives.

Outside of coaching, I founded Crane Karate Academy, teaching traditional Okinawan karate focused on strength and community. Whether in the dojo, the boardroom, or the coaching space, my goal is the same — to inspire resilience, meaningful connections, and the pursuit of a purpose-led life.
